A total of three prosecution witnesses including two friends of the victims on Wednesday testified in a case lodged over the rape of a Dhaka University student in the capital’s Kurmitola area.
The prosecution witnesses testified at the Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-7 and were cross-examined by the defence afterwards.
After that Judge Begum Mosammat Kamrunnahar of the tribunal adjourned the hearing in the case till Thursday.
Five out of the total 21 witnesses have testified in the case so far.
The court on August 26 framed charge against sole accused Majnu in the case.
Earlier, Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed the charge-sheet in the case on March 16.
The student of Dhaka University was raped on the evening of January 5, and her father filed the case with Cantonment Police Station the next day.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on January 7 managed to detain the culprit Majnu and the victim too later identified him.
