The third accused of the Rifat Sharif murder case, Rishan Farazi has given a confessional statement under section 164, in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Sirajul Islam Gazi today at around 4 pm.
The investigating officer of the case, Inspector (Investigation) Md. Humayun Kabir has confirmed this information.
Rishan Farazi was arrested at 10 am on July 18. He was presented to the court the next day, and was taken on a 5 day remand.
He was presented back to the court a day before the end of his remand. He has been sent to the Barguna prison after recording the statement under section 164.

Police superintendent of Barguna, Md. Maruf Hossain PPM has said: "15 accused have so far been arrested in the Rifat Sharif murder case. They have all given confessional statements in accordance with section 164 of the penal code. The main accused Nayan Bond was killed in a 'gunfight' with the police at dawn on July 2."
4 accused among 12, are yet to be arrested in the Rifat Sharif murder case. They are accused no. 5 Musa, accused no.7 Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, accused no. 8 Raihan, and accused no.10 Rifat Howlader. The charge in the case will be framed on July 31.
Rifat Sharif was hacked to death, in broad daylight, in front of the Barguna Government College gate, on July 26 morning.
He passed away at around 4 pm while he was being taken to a Barisal hospital.
Rifat's father Abdul Halim Dulal Sharif lodged a murder case against 12 with the Barguna Police Station.
