The High Court has stayed the trial proceedings of Niko graft case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The bench of Justice Sheikh Abdul Awal and Justice Md Khasruzzaman issued the order on Tuesday after holding the primary hearing of a petition filed by Khaleda seeking a stay on the trial.
“The stay will be in place until the High Court disposes of a previous ruling issued on another petition that BNP leader Moudud Ahmed filed in the same case,” said Khurshid Alam Khan, counsel for Anti-Corruption Commission, who filed the graft case.
Khurshid said the commission would appeal against the High Court order.
