Cricketer Sunny accused in women repression case

She filed the case with Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-4 on Wednesday. This is the third case she has filed against Sunny. Judge SM Rezanur Rahman recorded the plaintiff's statement and directed Mohammadpur police station's officer-in-charge to investigate the claims. According to case statement, Sunny married Nasrin on December 4, 2014 with an endowment of Tk5.1 lakh and lived at the house of Nasrin's sister in Katasur. Sunny and his mother made demanded a dowry of Tk 20 lakh on July 29, 2015, Nasrin claimed, adding that he had deserted her after she refused to comply. Later on January 22, Sunny’s mother, along with 10 other people, intercepted Nasrin on a road near Mohammadpur police station and physically assaulted her. Sunny was arrested the same day from his Aminbazar residence in a case filed under ICT Act by Nasrin on January 5. He was also charged with demanding dowry in another case.
