The first director general of the coast guard, Commodore Shafiq-ur-Rahman, has been arrested at his house in Mohakhali DOHS, confirms ACC.
“There are allegations against him of embezzling Tk7.37 crore by means of swindling 11,100 tonnes of wheat. He has been arrested in relations to a 1998 case filed with the Anti-Corruption Bureau,” said ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya.
