Regarding taking action against corruption, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Sunday mentioned the wealth accumulated by one of her former peons through corruption.

The man worked in my house and now he owns Tk400 crore. He could not move without a helicopter, said the PM.

How has he earned so much money, questioned Sheikh Hasina.

“However, I took action immediately after knowing this,” she added.

"I will not spare corrupt people no matter whoever they are or whatever position they have as I started the drive against corruption. I don't even consider who is close or who is not. I must execute the "zero tolerance policy" against corruption," she said.

She pledged while replying to a question about the government's measures against corruption at a press conference arranged to inform the outcome of her recent three-day bilateral visit to China from July 8-10.

The prime minister said the people knew about corruption in different sectors as her government has taken a tougher stance against corruption.

"No one in the past had conducted drives in such a way against corruption," she said.

The prime minister said her responsibility is to take the country into a dignified position by removing all the irregularities.
