Bangladesh High Commission in Maldives has advised the expatriate Bangladeshis in the country to stay at their houses after midnight.
According to report of Haveeru Online, the leading news website in the Maldives, Bangladesh High Commission released a statement expressing concern over the recent wave of threats faced by Bangladeshi expatriates working in Maldives.

The statement read: “All Bangladeshi expatriates are advised not to lock into any kind of unnecessary altercation with any stranger and not to organise any kind of unwanted gathering of around 5-6 people.”
The statement further stated that the High Commission had held meetings with Maldives President Abdulla Yameen, Home Minister Umar Naseer and Commissioner of Police Hussein Waheed over safety measures of Bangladeshi citizens in the country.
The Bangladesh High Commission said the authorities were keeping a close eye on the situation and warned Bangladeshi expatriates to be alert in the meantime.
