Three killed in two Chittagong road accidents

At least three youngsters were killed in two road accidents in Chittagong on Wednesday night.

Of the deceased, two were identified as Md Afsar, 25, a rickshaw passenger, Md Rana, 22, a tempo driver by profession while the third could not be identified immediately.

Nayek Jahagir Alam of Chittagong Medical College Hospital Police Outpost said Afsar sustained critical injuries in a head-on collision between a battery-run rickshaw and truck at around 11:30 at Shantirhat area of Patiya upazila.

Rana was critically injured as a three-wheeler overturned after losing control over the steering at the city’s CEPZ at around 1:00am.

Both of them were taken to the hospital, but on-duty doctors declared them dead, he added.

Meanwhile, a 25-year old man died after he fell under the wheels of a train at Chittagong Railway Station.

Nayek Jahangir said the youth sustained fatal injuries after being crushed under the wheel of Chittagong bound “Suborno Express” train at around 11:00 pm. He was also taken to the hospital, the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
