The proposed national budget for the fiscal 2014-15 has set an Annual Development Programme (ADP) with an outlay of Tk86,000 crore.
The actual ADP size, however, stood at Tk80,315 crore without own financing of the corporations and autonomous bodies.
The government has started to incorporate the development agendas of the autonomous organisations from fiscal year 13.
In the new ADP, transport sectors have been given highest priority while Tk8,100 crore has been kept for the construction of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project.
"The government has formulated the ADP taking into account the critical issues like regional parity, improved infrastructure and quality of expenditure," said finance minister A M A Muhith while placing national budget in the parliament on Thursday.
“We laid emphasis on overall development of the country rather than tackling the onrush of demand of an election year," he added.
