An MBBS student of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College, also an activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, has beaten to death by unidentified miscreants on Wednesday evening.
The deceased, Tauhidul Islam, was a fourth year student of MBBS 49th batch.
Tauhidul was admitted to the intensive care unit after duty doctors found him in a critical condition near emergecy unit around 6.00pm, said Osmani Medical College Deputy Director Dr Tanmay Bhattachariya.
Later, Tauhidul succumbed to his injury around 8.00pm, Assistant Director of the hospital Dr Abdus Salam endorsed the information in a press meet.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Asisstant Deputy Comissioner Md Rahmatullah said: ''Tauhid might be killed for previous fued with Chhatra League, a fresh investigation will be launched in this connection.''
Osmani Medical College unit JCD President Aslamul Islam Rudra claimed that BCL activists have attacked Tauhid beat him black and blue in room No 1003 of Abu Sina Hall.
