At least two people, including a freedom fighter, have been killed and two others injured after a battery operated three-wheeler (popularly known as auto-rickshaw) fell into a roadside ditch at Lakkhipasha under Bakerganj upazila on Wednesday morning.
The deceased are Motahar Biswas, 64, a freedom fighter and Anowara Begum, 40, wife of Harun Shikdar.
Nurul Islam, Bakerganj police station officer-in-charge, said: “The three-wheeler fell into a roadside ditch after the driver lost his control over the steering at 11:30am, leaving Motahar dead on the spot and injuring three other.
Later, Anowara succumbed to her injuries at Bakerganj upazila health complex,” he added.
Police seized the three-wheeler, said police.
