The government has made Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) compulsory for construction of all new private and commercial buildings in the capital.
The decision was made at a meeting of DAP review committee held at secretariat on Wednesday afternoon.
Housing and Public Work Minister Mosharraf Hossain made the disclosure to the journalists after the meeting.
In the meeting, three projects including one for the housing of 64,000 army personnel were also approved.
