Agitating students have besieged vice chancellor of Barisal University demanding realisation of their 13-point demand.
They have also kept administrative section under lock at the temporary campus on Barisal Zila School premises on Wednesday.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Harunor Rashid Khan and BU syndicate member Aktaruzzaman have been besieged in the VC office room from 11am till filing of this report at 1:21pm.
HM Jahirul Islam, a leading activist of the BU student movement, said their 13-point demand includes reducing charges and fees of tuition, examinations, and session and utilities.
We want fixation of fees and charges in accordance with the financial abilities of our guardians and other newly established public universities, he said.
Professor Dr Harunor Rashid was not available to make comment over the matter.
Police stationed near the spot have not gone to action over the matter.
A tense situation is prevailing on the campus.
