Gonojagoron Moncho has held a rally at Shahbag on Monday protesting police attack on Monday afternoon.
Terming the attack as an assault over the spirit of liberation war, the leader and activists of the platform have criticised police action on its procession.
The platform also announced a nationwide protest rally on Friday protesting the attack.
In the protest rally, Moncho spokesperson Imran H Sarkar said: “Police and the government have been continuously attacking us. The government attacks us every time we declare a programme against Jamaat.”
He said: “The role of the government has changed in comparison to the role they played when Gonojagoron Moncho started.”
The Moncho activists also slammed the law enforcers for disrespecting the national flag the protesters were carrying.
Earlier, Police swooped on the platform's procession when it was marching towards the ministry of law at Doel intersection of Dhaka University demanding withdrawal of the law minister's comment regarding the trial of Jamaat-e-Islami.
The law enforces and moncho activists locked in a scuffle when police put barricades on the road as the procession reached Doyel Chattar around 11:30am.
Three people including a freedom fighter was injured in the scuffle.
