Mizanur laid to rest

Mizanur Rahman, a naik of the BGB who was shot dead by Myanmar border forces, has been laid to rest in his home district, Comilla, on Tuesday afternoon.

He was buried there in state honour after the second namaj-e-janaza.

Earlier in the day, his first namaj-e-janaza was been held at BGB's 31 battalion headquarter in Naikkhangchari.

Higher officials of Border Guard Bangladesh and district administration joined the janaza.

Mizanur's body was taken to BGB's 31 battalion headquarter in Naikkhangchari from Cox's Bazar Sadar hospital mortuary at 8:15am. His janaza was held at 9am.

After the first janaza, Mizanur's body was taken to his home district.

Myanmar’s Border Guard Police (BGP) handed over the body of Mizanur on Saturday afternoon.

Mizanur Rahman was killed and two other BGB personnel went missing on May 30 during fire exchange between the border troopers of Bangladesh and Myanmar.
