Two minor boys were killed and four others injured as the roof of an under-construction masjid collapsed on them in Kazibari area at sadar upazila of Gaibandha district on Sunday night.
The deceased were identified as Kazi Safalyo, 7, son of Kazi Khaled Mahmud, and Bishal, 6, son of Abdul Mannan.
Kazi Khalil Ulfat, chairman of Kholahati union parishad, said some children were playing in the under-construction masjid. Some of them went to the roof of the masjid and then it collapsed on the duo leaving Bishal dead on the spot.
Five other were injured in the incident. Of them, Safalyo was first admitted to Gaibandha Modern hospital. He was being shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital when he died on the way around 10:30pm.
Gaibandha Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Mofiz Uddin Sheikh said an unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
