Update : 01 Jun 2014, 12:05 PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on Saturday held a press conference on her recent visit to Japan which was then followed by a question-answer session.

However, one factor that had definitely attracted attention to the prime minister's attire was the brooch that she had worn in the shape of a cat which was fitted with the light grey-coloured saree.

Sheikh Hasina came up with the brooch, that carried the representation of a cat at the press conference where she announced that she had promised Japan to send them two royal Bengal tigers, as a present so that the children of Japan will be able to learn about our culture

Those who followed the top party politician for long had seen her previously using different brooches in various public appearance, many of which were the symbols that related to her party and ideology. They include brooches of various sorts such as flower brooches as well as brooches in the shape of boats having flags on them.

However, many say, this is unprecedented and have aroused their curiosity of whether any significance lies behind choosing of the cat brooch.

The press meet photos shows the cat is glittering on the grey background of the premier's saree.

Apparently the cat's body was made up of stones and what could possibly be pearls that consisted of light colours.

According to astrology, unlike the black cat a light coloured cat denotes a sign of fortune and good luck and the one Sheikh Hasina had was a bright coloured cat, almost white.
