Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked for giving promotion in the Bangladesh Army based on professional efficiency, merit and competence of the officers.
The premier made the remarks while inaugurating the Army Headquarters (AHQ) Selection Board-2014 at Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday, reports BSS.
She said: “Importance should be given to officers' leadership quality, seniority, faith in the spirit of the war of liberation, honesty, discipline, attitude and ability to work in different fields.” Sheikh Hasina urged the members of the selection board to keep them above personal choice and select the competent officers for promotion. Army Chief General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan gave the introductory speech at the meeting.
