Update : 01 Jun 2014, 04:07 AM

A school student was stabbed to death Saturday night in the capital’s Rayerbagh in Kadomtoli.

Identified Md Shafiqul Islam, the 14-year-old boy, was a student of class-IX in Roisnagar Hugh School.

He had been stabbed near Mirajnagar Madrasa around 9pm and died after he was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) at 11pm.

Police arrested two other teenager boys in connection with the killing.

Son of Tajul Islam of Purnoshariya village under Palong upaqzila in Shariyatpur district, Shafiqul had been residing with his parents at Mirajnagar.

Hridoy, a friend of deceased Shafiqul told journalists at the DMCH that Shafiqul was stabbed indiscriminately following an earlier enmity with two other boys Raqib Hossain and Afzal Hossain.

Sub-inspector Mozammel Huq, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, said the boy sustained stab injuries at his chest and back.

SI Sarwar Hossain of Kadomtoli police station said immediately after the incident they arrested Rakib and Afzal by conducting raids in Rayerbagh area.

“We are trying to find out the real cause of the murder and also trying to know whether anybody else had been linked to the killing”, said Sarwar Hossain.

He also said Rakib and Afzal left Shafiqul stabbed on the road and later local people rushed him to the DMCH where the doctors declared him dead.

Akash, another friend of Shafiqul said Afzal and Rakib made the attack on Shafiqul as they earlier had locked into a clash.
