Miscreants have stabbed and then shot three persons to death in Pushpopara Bazar under the Ataikula upazila in the district on Saturday evening.
The deceased were identified as Sultan Mahmud, Fazlur Rahman and Shamim.
Akram Hossain, officer-in-charge of Ataikula police station, told the Dhaka Tribune that the miscreants stabbed the three persons indiscriminately and then shot them at Pushpopara Bazar around 8:45pm, leaving them dead on the spot.
Rashed Ali Masum, organising secretary of Pabna Sadar upazila Awami League, claimed the three persons as the ruling party activists.
However, the OC could not confirmed about the political identity of the deceased.
Details regarding the incident were awaited.
