After the huge success of “Agnee,” the production company Jaaz Multimedia and director Iftakar Chowdhury decided to go for a sequel titled “Agnee 2.” In a conversation with the director, Dhaka Tribune learned that Arefin Shuvo, who was the male protagonist of the previous film is excluded from “Agnee 2.” The director also refused to reveal the name of the male lead for the upcoming flick to keep the audience guessing. However, Mahiya Mahi has secured her place in the sequel, confirmed Iftakar.
“Agnee” ended with a positive note and “Agnee 2” will take off from there and will conclude in a more interesting manner, leaving an opening for another movie in the “Agnee” franchise.
Iftakar said: “We will make ‘Agnee 2’ more exciting and upbeat. Everything about the upcoming flick will be better than before, including the music, action, location, background music and colour correction. Also, many new technological innovations will be used for ‘Agnee 2.’ We were unable to use these facilities for ‘Agnee’ due to unavoidable obstacles.”
Like its forerunner, the sequel will also be shot abroad because of the positive audience response to “Agnee” which was shot in Thailand.
The shooting of the film will start from September.
