A banana vendor has been killed and another injured when three-wheeler collided with a truck at Lautala area under Kaliganj upazila in Jhenaidah on Friday morning.
The deceased is Nur Islam, 45, son of Torab Ali of village Solemenpur of Kotchndpur upazila.
Kaliganj police station Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain said: “Nur Islam was boarding on the three wheeler in order to sale his banana when a truck hit it around 9am, leaving the two injured.
Later, they were taken to Kaliganj upazila health complex where the duty physician declared Nur Islam dead.
A case was filed with Kaliganj police station while the body was sent to Jhenaidah sadar morgue for post mortem examination.
However, the killer driver managed to flee the spot, OC said.
