A Bagerhat court has sentenced a man to death in a case filed against him for killing his wife.
District and Sessions' Judge SM Solaiman handed down Mohit Sheikh the verdict on Thursday afternoon.
Public Prosecutor Sheikh Mohammad Ali said the convict killed his wife Safia Begum in the night on October 13, 2006, by beating her up.
Three months later, he also killed his minor daughter Shirina.
Shahid, Safia's brother, filed a case accusing him for her sister's killing.
The charge sheet of the case was submitted to the court on October 24, 2006.
The convict has been absconding since the incident.
