Customs officials have seized 1.2 kilograms of gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday night.
They also arrested a man in this connection.The detained was identified as Shariful Islam, hailed from Benapole of Jessore.
Ruhul Amin, an assistant commissioner of the Customs Department at the airport, said acting on a tip-off they detained Shariful Islam immediate after his arrival at the airport around 9:300pm and recovered a gold bar weighting to 1.2kg by searching his body.
Shariful Islam arrived at Dhaka on a flight of Malaysian Airlines from Malaysia.
