Two Dhaka University students, who reportedly abducted a salesman, have been temporary suspended from the university on Wednesday afternoon.
DU Proctor Amzad Ali confirmed to the Dhaka tribune about the suspension.
He said: “Further decision in this regard will be taken after investigation.”
Any political identity of the suspended students --Alamgir Hossain, masters student of world religion and culture and Nazmul Karim Shuvo, final year student of sociology-- could not be known.
Earlier on Tuesday, they were detained for allegedly abducting a salesman of Kazi Manufacturing Limited from Nazimuddin Road adjacent to the campus.
Later, the abductee, Sohel, was rescued from SM Hall in a police drive on Tuesday evening, Dhaka University Proctor Amzad Ali told the Dhaka Tribune.
Shahbagh police station Officer-in-Charge Jafar Ali confirmed endorsement of the information to the Dhaka Tribune, “Sohel has filed an abduction suit in this regard.”
