A Habiganj court has sent 11 leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Shibir to jail, canceling their bail petitions in an explosive case.
District Session Judge Md Mahbubul Alam passed the order in their presence on Tuesday afternoon.
The accused are District Jubo Dal Organisationl Secretary Jalal Ahmed, Municipal Jubo Dal General Secretary Shafiqur Rahman Situ, Organisational Secretary Morshed Alam Sajon, District Chhatra Shibir President Khalilur Rahman, Jamaat activist Amzad Hossain Moni, Municipal Krishak Dal General Secretary Shafiqur Alam, Chhatra Dal activist Mahbur Rahman, Rabiul Alam, Habibur Rahman Pappu, Shipon and Mamunur Rashid Mamun.
On October 30, Jubo Dal activists attacked and vandalised several shops during a procession at the Chowdhury Bazar area in the Habiganj Sadar.
Later police filed a case on 31 October under the speedy trial act against 150 activists of Chhatra Dal , Jubo Dal and Shibir.
