Police arrested a woman for allegedly killing her one and a half months old son at Biswaspara under Chaugachha upazila in Jessore on Monday night.
Akram Hossain, officer-in-charge of Chaugachha police station said Nargis Begum confessed to the police that she had killed her son.
A case was lodged with the police station in this connection.
Police and locals said Nargis Begum cried out after strangulating her one and a half-months old child Nafis Hasan in absence of her husband on Monday night. She tried to establish that her son died naturally.
On suspicion, locals informed the police about the matter and the police recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
