The victim has been identified as Aminul Islam Sakib, 13, a class six student of Isdair Barea Hossain High School and son of Nur Islam of Aminbag area.
Sakib's father Nur Islam told the Dhaka Tribune that Sakib went missing after he had gone to play with his friends on Monday noon.
Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Fatulla Model police station, said: “Sakib might have drawn while searching ball in the pond.”
His body was kept at Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
