A Jubo League activist has been slaughtered by miscreants in sadar upazila of Lakshmipur.
Deceased Roman Hossain, 24, was the son of Nurul Islam of Birahimpur village of Bashikpur union.
Locals informed police after they found the slaughtered body of Roman Hossain on Madanpur ground around 6am.
Dattapara police outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector Wahiduzzaman said the body was on the spot till filing the report at 10am.
“Roman was an extortionist. He was accused in several cases,” said the SI.
Mahbubul Haque Mahbub, joint convener of Lakshmipur sadar Jubo League, claimed Roman was a Jubo League activist.
Bashikpur union Awami League president Amir Hossain said miscreants took Roman away at gunpoint from one Abdul Mannan's house early morning. His slaughtered body was later found beside a road.
