Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has left Dhaka for New Delhi on Sunday morning, to join the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The matter was disclosed in a handout issued by the Jatiya Sangsad.
High profile officials including senior Secretary of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat M Ashraful Makbul were present at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to see her off.
Shirin Sharmin is expected to call on Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and Minster Narendra Modi during her visit.
She will return back to Dhaka on May 28.
