Police have arrested 10 people, including seven members of banned Islamist outfit Hizb-ut Tahrir from AnderKilla JameMasjid area in Chittagong city on Friday afternoon.
The names of the arrestees could not be known immediately.
Assistant Commissioner of Kotwali circle Shah Md Abdur Rauf said: “Seven of the arrestees have been identified as Hizb-ut Tahrir members. They were arrested while they were trying to bring out a procession.”
“As Hizb-ut Tahrir is banned, they have no legitimate right to bring out a procession. So, they have to face legal proceedings,” he said.
