A 30-kilometre tailback has been created on Dhaka-Chittagong highway following a road accident in Daudkandi upazila of the district on Friday morning.
Highway police said the tailback occurred as a cement-laden truck collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound covered van at Tamta area under Daudkandi upzila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 8am.
The accident disrupted traffic on the highway from Kanra area in Daudkandi upazila to Harikhola in Chandina upazila, inflicting sufferings on thousands of passengers.
Daudkandi Iliatganj highway outpost In-Charge Sergeant Md Hassan said: “Highway police are trying to normalise the vehicular movement.”
