Update : 22 May 2014, 04:45 PM

The former deputy commissioner and police superintendent of Narayanganj will give their deposition before the high-powered government’s probe body on Sunday.

Former deputy commissioner Monoj Kanti Boral and police superintendent Syed Nurul Islam were withdrawn on April 29, two days after the abductions of seven persons including panel mayor Nazrul Islam.

The probe committee has sent letters asking them to be present at the secretariat on Sunday to give deposition over the abductions and killings of seven people in Narayanganj.

Shahjahan Ali Molla, chief of the probe body, said the committee sent letters to seven persons including the withdrawn DC and SP of Narayanganj.

Earlier in the day, five people gave depositions before the committee.

They are Narayanganj court constables Omar Houlader and Rafiqul Islam, RAB 11 member Kamal Uddin, a witness of the abduction Abdur Rauf, employee of Hazi Pandey Ali School and college student Akhi.

The sixth public hearing will be held on Monday at the Narayanganj Circuit House.

Earlier the team held hearings on May 12, 15, 17 and 19.

Most of the people who testified told the committee that Shiddhirganj Awami League leader Nur Hossain had masterminded the abduction and killings in connivance with some officials of the local administration.
