All outstanding issues including Teesta Water Sharing will be resolved through discussions with the newly-elected government of India, Ramesh Chandra Sen, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on Water Resources Ministry has said.
Ramesh has made the statement while talking to journalists after a meeting of the Standing Committee at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in the capital on Wednesday.
He said: “We will hold discussions with the new Indian government over the Teesta water Sharing issue to get our due share.”
The foreign ministry has to work more on the issue and if that ministry takes initiative in this regard, the water resources ministry will complete the rest of the work, Sen said.
Committee members and Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud attended the meeting.
