Dhaka-northern part rail link restored

The railway communication between Dhaka and the northern part of the country was halted for five hours as a compartment of a comuter train was derailed at outer signal of Joydevpur railway junction on Wednesday morning.

The derailment took place around 11am on Wednesday.

Joydevpur Railway Junction Master Zia uddin Sarder told the Dhaka Tribune: “The Rangpur Express derailed arround 11.15am as its four wheels went trackless near Mouchak area of the junction. Later, the rail link on the route has been restored at 4pm.”

The derailment made suspension in Gazipur-Rajshahi-Dinajpur-Rangpur rute, he added.
