Three women have been killed and 20 others injured in a road accident in Kalampur-Dautia area on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway under Dhamrai police station, on the outskirts of the capital, on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Rosnara, 28, Jahanara, 30, and Archona, 26.
Dhamrai police station Officer-in-Charge Firoj Talukder has confirmed the deaths to the Dhaka Tribune.
Quoting locals, Firoj said: “The accident took place when a bus, carrying the workers of Protik Ceramic, hit a roadside tree and fell into a ditch as its driver lost control over its steering around 6am, leaving Jahanara dead on the spot and 20 other workers injured.”
The injured have been admitted to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital where Archona and Rosnara succumbed to their injuries, he added.
