Bangladesh Startup Cup, a startup business model competition was launched recently through a 3-day long programme named Startup Boot Camp with already selected 32 teams for the competition.
The competition is designed to stimulate entrepreneurial activity, grow jobs through startups, and increase awareness of the resources available to grow entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, said a press release.
“Startup scene in Bangladesh is dramatically changing with the launch of this competition, said Minhaz Anwar, chair of Bangladesh Startup Cup.
“There is a lot of untapped entrepreneurial potential here; great ideas in need of nurturing and overflowing exuberance and energy deserving of being channeled. This looks like just the right sort of initiative at this cusp of our country’s path to greater things,” said Tanvir Haider Chaudhury, CEO of Kazi Food Industries.
The event consists of 100 founders, 20 resident mentors, 15 judges and 25 organisers.
