2 ex-RAB officials on remand

A Narayanganj court has granted five-day remand for each of the two ex-RAB officials allegedly involved in abduction and killings of seven people in Narayanganj.

Police have produced former Lt Col Tarek Sayeed Mahmud and ex-Major Arif Hossain before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Chandi Rupam, seeking 10-day remand.

91% pass SSC exams

A total of 91.34% of students have passed in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations.

Some 142, 276 examinees have got GPA-5.

Meghna death toll rises to 52

The death toll from the MV Miraj 4 launch capsize in the Meghna River rose to 52 as rescuers have recovered 21 more bodies on Saturday.

Out of 52 bodies, 42 have been handed over to the family members.
