Narendra Modi, the set-to-be Prime Minister of India has addressed his first public rally in Vadodara after BJP's stunning performance in the Lok Sabha election.

The speech has been aired in the Indian TV channels on Friday evening.

Modi said credit for the win goes to the people of India.

He vowed to move ahead based on trust saying: “I am mazdoor no 1 and will be with the people and work for development.”

"The media wanted me to speak since morning. However, I wanted to speak to Vadodara first, Vadodara has the first right on me," he said, addressing a victory rally in one of the two constituencies he has won.

"Good days will be here soon," Modi said.

He also thanked his state Gujarat, of which he has been chief minister for over a decade, for voting for the BJP in all 26 seats.

The 63-year-old former RSS pracharak pointed out that the state is giving the country its "first prime minister born in Independent India."

Modi has led his party to a landslide victory in the elections. The BJP is set to win 281 seats in the Lok Sabha election and it will have 339 seats with its allies.
