Natural gas is coming out of a tube well at Kalikathi village in Shankarpasha union under Sadar upazila much to the surprise of the locals.
According to sources, the gas has been coming out from the pipeline of the tube-well continuously, for the past three months, which belongs to Amir Hossain, a resident of the village.
Amir said:” I had set up a tub-well at home three months ago when we discovered that there was blue water coming out from it.”
“I heard a mysterious sound coming out along with the water from the pipeline. Later, we were sure that it was natural gas because of the smell it emitted,” he said.
“Later, we set up a burner based elbow on top of the pipe and set fire to it just to be sure. Surprisingly, the gas caught fire and started burning,” said Amir.
“Now we are use the gas for cooking,” he added.
UP member Abdul Jalil said:”I have been informed of the matter.”
“Using gas this way may be risky,” he said.
Sadar upazila chairman Mujibar Rahman Khaleque said:”I have informed the deputy commissioner about the matter.”
