A minor girl died after drinking soft drink at Nishchinta Baria village in Khoksa upazila of the district Saturday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Afsana, 1, daughter of Asad Munsi of the village. Ali Newaz, officer-in-charge of Khoksa police station, said Sima, wife of Asad Munshi, their daughter Afsana and Sima’s brother Shamim, 3, fell sick after drinking Upper-Ten brand soft drinks of RC Group at about 4:30pm. Later, they were rushed to Khoksa Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor declared Afsana dead. Police seized the bottles of soft drinks, the OC added.
