Miscreants have vandalised the name plaque containing the name of Sheikh Jamal and painted it with black colour on Friday night.
They have also hung some banners under the banner of environmental and social organisations.
Iqbal Habib, joint secretary of BAPA, an environmental organisation, said: “We did not hang those banners. The occupiers are making plot to put us in trouble.”
Anwarul Kabir Helal, team manager of Sheikh Jamal Club Limited, said: “The name plaque was vandalised on Friday night. Still, we have no idea about the criminals.”
However, we'll decide about further action in this regard, he added.
The labours working in the playground said: “A gang of 30 to 40 people came at night to hang banners. Hearing the sound of firing, we stayed inside for safety.”
When asked, a police official present at the playground did not make any comment over the matter.
