2 electrocuted in Sylhet

Two people have been electrocuted while trying to bring out goods from a a charcoal mill, which had caught fire earlier, at Rail Colony under Fenchuganj in Sylhet on Saturday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Bimol Proshad, 30, son of late Balia Proshad of shordar Colony and Rocky Ahmad, 17, son of Nur Ali Ahmad of Rail Colony and a SSC candidate of this year.

Fenchuganj police Station Officer-in-Charge Nondon Kanti Dhor said: “A fire broke out at a Charcoal Mill around 5:30am. The fire originated from the Charcoal stove.”

“On information, fire rangers rushed in and brought the blaze under control. The mill authority had been asked to keep the electricity line off, however, they did not response to it,” he said.

Later, Bimol and Rocky got electrocuted when they went to the mill to bring out goods in the morning.
