Based on Rabindranath Tagore’s short story Badnam, a single episode drama with the same title will be aired at 9pm on SATV tonight. Directed by Anjan Aich, the drama features popular soap actors Sadia Islam Mou, Maznun Mizan and many others.
Plot of the drama is influenced by the social upheaval during the 19th Century Renaissance in Bengal. A rebel takes shelter in the home of a police officer with the help of the officer’s wife. However, helping a rebel was considered anathema at that time and the lady in question suffers for her decision to help the marked man, who became as dear as a brother to her.
To relieve her from the burden, the man surrenders to the police as he believed that no one was capable of stopping the inevitable.
