A youth has been killed in lightning strike at Char Pakundia village in Pakundia upazila in the district on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased is Md Farhad Mia, 22, son of Dulal Mia, of Char Pakundia village in Pakundia.
Police and locals said a thunderbolt struck him while he was going to a nearby shop at 3:45pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Zakir Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Pakundia police station confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the death .
