PM seeks more UAE investment

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought more investment from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in different sectors of Bangladesh.

The prime minister said this when UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Saeed Bin Hajar Al Shehi paid a courtesy call on her at the PM's office in the capital on Wednesday morning.

After the meeting, PM’s Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil briefed the journalists, reports BSS.

During the meeting, the PM said: “I hope that the UAE would make more investment in Bangladesh’s different sectors including power and energy.”

In response, the UAE ambassador assured that his country would provide all out support for socioeconomic and infrastructure development of Bangladesh.

He also handed over an invitation letter from the UAE vice president and prime minister to Sheikh Hasina to visit the Arab state.

Accepting the invitation, the prime minister said she would visit the UAE at a convenient time.

Ambassador-At-Large M Ziauddin, PM’s Principal Secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikdar and Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil were present at the occasion.
