Celebrating the 153rd birth anniversary of the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, Chhayanaut is organising a two-day festival from tomorrow in its auditorium at 6:30pm. The event titled Rabindra Utsob 1421 is a tribute to the literary titan of the sub-continent and will be celebrated through colourful performances and musical presentations.
The opening dance performance will be directed by Belayet Hossain and a total of 60 artistes will take part in the festival. An array of inspirational, devotional and love songs of Tagore will be presented at the programme. Eminent Rabindra Sangeet artistes Mita Haque, Iffat Ara Dewan, Sajed Akber, Salma Akber, Papiya Sarwar and many others will sing at the event. Teachers and students of Chhayanaut will also perform at the programme including Azizur Rahman, ATM Jahangir and Tanzina Parveen Toma. Other artistes from the various divisions of the country will also be present at the event.
Poetry recitations of Tagore's popular poems will be presented by Syed Hasan Imam, Taposh Mazumder, Ferdous Ara Khanam and Mahmuda Akter.
The celebration is open for all.
