A video encouraging viewers to unplug their phones and cut down their use of social media has gone extremely viral.
The five-minute film, put together by Gary Turk, already has 20million hits after being posted on YouTube on April 25.
A London based writer and director Gary Turk has recently uploaded the video on youtube through his channel 'Look UP,' whereby he has urged everyone to shut the computer and feel the “real life.”
The video shows the impacts using social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, and our smart phones have on our day-to-day lives and relationships.
During the video, Turk reads a poem, saying things like: “This media we call social is anything but’ and ‘look up from your phone, shut down that display. Stop watching this video, live life the real way.”
Gary described an emotional love story. “A moment with your loved ones is worth thousands of moments at virtual world and he also added that when you really find the divine feeling of love or being father you need not show it to thousands.”
“It is better to buy a ring for your girl by selling your computer as she is the real thing.”
In the story the couple is seen to grow old together and get the real charm of life by giving away so called smart phones and modern technologies.
“People today are missing out on genuine connections because they are constantly glued to their smart phones,” Turk says.
“Ironically the “smart phone generation” has liked and made it a super hit one through their mobile.”
Turk termed people with smart phones as idiots and dumb.
“This media that we call social is anything but when we open up our computers and it’s our doors we shut,” he added.
“Stop watching this video. Live life the real way," Turk says at the end.
