Two people have been killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a tempo on Baufal-Boga road under Baufal upazila in Patuakhali on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Nayeem, 14, son of Nur Alam Molla and Pavel, 17, son of Abdul Mannan Mia of Rajnagor area and a class X students of Boga High School.
Baufal police station Officer-in-Charge Naresh Chandra Karmakar said: “They were going to attend a marriage ceremony when rider Rubel lost his control over it and collided with a tempo, killing Nayeem on the spot.”
Locals rushed Pavel and his elder brother Rubel to Baufal Upazila Health Complex in a critical condition.
Later, Pavel died on his way to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) around 12:15am on Tuesday. Rubel is being treated at SBMCH.
The OC said the bodies have been sent to Patuakhali general morgue.
He said an unnatural death case has been filed in connection to the matter.
