Three people have died and at least four others injured when a microbus collided head-on with a speeding truck in Madhabpur upazila, Habiganj.
Police said the incident took place on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Andiura area around 7am. The truck was seized, but the driver managed to flee.
“Two people died on the spot in the crash,” Madhabpur highway police outpost Officer-in-Charge Ezazur Rahman said. “One other died on the way to a hospital.”
Two of the deceased could be identified as Ruhul Amin, 17, son of Khalil Munshi from Comilla, and Rubel Ahmed, 22, son of Sona Mia from Sylhet.
The bodies were being kept at Habiganj Sadar Hospital morgue.
